(The Tortuous Road To Golgotha)

Text:
Isaiah 53:4-7 KJV
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Jesus left his Royal Throne and took the form of man (Infinite in finite) and suffered shame and death because he had you in mind. He ‘drank the cup’ because he cared so much for me and was bothered about my latter end.

…. AND THE FRIDAY WAS GOOD
Jesus did not come as a judge, rather, He came to strip man the garment of sin and death and the toga of condemnation off his shoulder and brake down the middle wall of partition between us and our Maker. He came to pay this wage for us and when on the cross of Calvary, he exclaimed “It is finished ” heaven took note that the prize has been fully paid to the last decimal, the earth bore witness of the blood that flowed freely for full atonement.

Romans 8:1-2 KJV
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Nonetheless, this is the condemnation; that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. He that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. — John 3: 18-19 KJV

As we, therefore, celebrate this Great Redemption, let’s celebrate not as onlookers that are being entertained in a game of fun, but as beneficiaries who are celebrating victory over captivity, victory over condemnation, victory over separation and, of course, victory over death.

Titus 2:11 KJV
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

HIS PAIN, OUR GAIN
